The Ministry provides licenses for tour guides to operate in the Sultanate. This license is required to operate as a tour guide in Oman. The service is provided for those wishing to obtain a card to practice the profession of tourist guidance according to categories: General, Specialist & Regional.

• Abide by the laws, regulations, terms and conditions issued by the Ministry.
• Must be Omani, and age is not less than (18) eighteen years of age, or a foreigner, and no less than A year for twenty-five (25) Gregorian years.
• Must be fully competent, of good conduct, of good reputation, and has never been convicted of a felony or punishment Restricted freedom in a crime involving breach of honour or trust, unless he is rehabilitated.
• Prove physical fitness.
• Must have an appropriate qualification and adequate training in the fields of tourist guidance.
• Fluent in speaking a foreign language in addition to Arabic.
• Pass the test prepared by the Ministry for this purpose.
• The English-language tourist guide is restricted to the Omani tourist guide, and it is not permitted for the guide Foreign Tourist Guidance in this language.

Omani

• 2 years validity, renewable for Omanis.

Expat

• 1 year validity, renewable for non-Omanis.
